Goldsmith, 52, who is Kate Middleton’s uncle, was described as a ‘mean drunk’ in November as he was given a £ 5,000 end and community order for hitting 48-year-old Julie-Ann outside their London home.

A court heard about the couple from a charity event in the early hours of October 13.

Julie-Ann had accused Goldsmith of taking drugs and abandoning her all night, while she responded by calling her ‘a nothing’ and ‘to whore’, the court was told.

After getting out of the taxi Goldsmith threw what was described by the driver as a ‘left hook’ which knocked her to the ground.

Goldsmith was kicked out of the London property and shared with his wife, and was banned from seeing or talking to her while on bail.

During the New Year’s Eve party Julie-Ann ended up back in her husband’s arms and the pair shared a kiss.

Millionaire Gary told The Mail on Sunday: “We’ve had a great New Year. It’s been really good fun, so yes.

‘But we’d prefer to be left to get on with things.’

Before leaving Ibiza, he tweeted: ‘When two people really care about each other they will always look for a way to make it work, no matter how hard it is.’

Goldsmith is the younger brother of the Duchess of Cambridge’s mother, Carole Middleton, and attended the weddings of both Kate and her sister Pippa.
