The zero emission supercar has hit the blow. It is you, now, the absolute fastest car series to have completed a tour of the legendary German circuit
Do you remember the NIO EP9? We had talked about it some time ago to become the fastest electric car ever to be on the track of the old Nürburgring.
From that episode, the “global” producer (as he likes to define himself on his site) has still talked about himself last February for having built his own self-guided car faster
than ever – the only Having completed a round of the Circuit of the Americas
(the COTA, which hosts the Austin GP of Formula 1 and MotoGP, so much to understand) in such a short time. Evidently,
this record thing must have liked a casino for kids based in San Jose, Monaco, London and Shanghai (as well as eight more locations),
so it is recent news that a Nio EP9 would be able to break down The absolute record among the “street legal” cars never scored, within the Nordschleife.
90. A measure that, if confirmed, would represent a tremendous leap forward compared to the recent record recorded by our “Lamborghini Huracan Performante” (6: 52.01 in October last year)
and a huge giant step in comparison to all ‘Last hypercar seen from those parts, the Porsche 918 Spyder
(which stopped the stopwatch at 6:57 in 2013) – here’s the complete list of times taken down there.
At the moment there is no video that reveals the goodness of time, but certainly NIO has not failed to officially report it.
Gerry Hughes, Head of Performance Program & FE Team Principal, said: “In October 2016 we wanted to mark a new record tour for electric cars with our NIO EP9.
Under unfavorable track conditions – for which the Nürburgring Nordschleife is famous – the EP9 completed two laps of 20.8 km of “Inferno verde”
and in one of these it scored a time of 7: 05.12, beating the Previous record for electric cars and becoming the fastest electric on earth.
The new record lap is 19.22 seconds faster than the previous one.
This is a fantastic achievement for NIO and I am very proud of the team that has been working hard to achieve this goal. ” Okay, okay,
Gerry, beautiful Gerry story, you convinced me.
