Grammy Awards 2016, triumph in 3 to Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Mark Ronson

The “Oscars of the Music” assign a “throne-shaped sofa 3” but Kendrick Lamar, winner in rap, what gets the most gramophones

More than a throne, for the winners of the Grammy Awards in 2016 it would take a three-seat sofa: is Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran the winners of the most important categories of the 58th edition of the “Oscars of the music”.
The album of the year 1989 the former queen of the country, the song is (and could be no doubt) Thinking Out Loud of hair fawn songwriter, while the 2016 record goes to Mark Ronson (feat. Bruno Mars) for the catchphrase Uptown Funk.
All three artists, they are then awarded a further upside statuette (Swift even 2), in dedicated to pop categories.

From a quantitative point of view, however, Kendrick Lamar is the true king of the ceremony, as he took home four awards, all in the categories dedicated to rap; tied in their respective genres, The Weeknd (R & B, Contemporary) and coupled with Skrillex Diplo (dance).

But they were the result, perhaps, to make it even more special than usual the evening dedicated to the music.

Which side live, he confirmed Lady Gaga undisputed queen of the moment: he promised a medley tribute to the late David Bowie, and so it was. And how, if it has been in recent years, the pop diva will also have made some mistakes in the recording industry, but to live is now unreachable.

In addition to David Bowie, they were also dedicated tributes to other artists who have left us in the last year: Stevie Wonder and Pentatonics sang a cappella for Maurice White (founder of Earth, Wind & Fire), while Glenn Frey was remembered by his Eagles. A Lemmy Kilmister has been devoted the first television performance of The Hollywood Vampires (the band composed by Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry), rather to remind B.B. King played Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt and Gary Clark Jr.

Among the performers that have inflamed the stage of the Grammys 2016, Rihanna was the great absentee: confirmed for some time, the singer has given package at the last minute for a health problem.
The standing ovation went to Adele, another great return “guest” (the album was released after the time limits for records of the year), despite a technical problem could make it out of tune on All I ask. Maybe it was the effect of Lionel Richie, honored as Person of the Year Award, and that months ago had been accomplice of a funny parody of Hello … A Richie was paid a performance by John Legend Group, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan and Tyrese on the classics of the singer, who then took the stage to sing the evergreen All Night Long. Kendrick Lamar, perhaps galvanized by the awards, has performed in a very intense live; other performances of the evening: Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt, Andra Day.

The windmills and the Zaanse parks in Holland

The windmills and the Zaanse parks in Holland
A trip to Holland is not complete without a visit to the windmills, one of the symbols of the country, so important that on 9 and 10 May was celebrated the National Day of the mill.

Zaandam is a town in the northeast of Amsterdam where you can visit Zaanse Schans an open air museum with a dozen windmills, 20 minutes by train from Centraal Station Amsterdan, at the Koog-Zaandijk station.

20150418_180016-1200x520

Once off the train, we tourists are welcomed by some guys that give us a map of the area and show us the path to reach the mills along about 1.5 km on foot.

In mid-journey we are immersed in an unusual odor, reminiscent of chocolate, not that intense that spreads to the kitchen when we prepare the hot chocolate, but very small, maybe it’s something else. I remain in doubt until we arrive in front of the ADM Cocoa, known chocolate factory, alas, can not be visited. Zaandam has always been an important industrial area and in the past, the region was home to more than a thousand mills, the oldest dating back to the first half of the fourteenth century.

A few hundred meters down the road, on the right, seen through the red roofs of the four blades of a windmill, a big x-shaped, each arm consisting of a grid, a shovel yes and a no covered with a tarp. The mill is attached to the house of the miller. The upper part of the mill is bell-shaped, at the top of the blades are mounted. The house and the lower part of the coated green wood mill water, the dark green fixtures.

We continue to follow the signs. We pass the modern bridge on the river Zaan Julianabrug and immerse ourselves in a fairytale landscape. Paths along narrow channels in the green, bordered by the colorful houses typical of various shades of green, yellow and white daffodils a bit ‘everywhere.
Now you are visited museums in the morning and early afternoon. Inside it includes the activity that was carried out there. Each mill had a specific function: grinding corn, or olives, or cocoa producing paper or mustard, cut stones.

Zaanse Schans in the park there is also a farm where you can see the working of the Dutch cheese, taste it and buy it. A shop of sweets and a workshop in which to observe the manufacture of klompen: traditional willow and poplar wooden clogs, still used by those who work in the fields.

Oscar, a racial issue (since 1929)

The Oscar nominations are not a multi-ethnic society. The scandal exploded in 2016 but, retracing the history of the Academy and doing the math, the question seems rooted

The boycott of the Oscar night by Spike Lee (who was to receive an Academy Honorary Award), Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Tyrese Gibson for the lack of representing color in the list of nominations pushes to reflect. The Academy, after the fuss that was raised, ran for cover announced plans to change the rules (for example increasing the number of members “black” and of different ethnicities) and calling to attend the ceremony on 28 February, the musician and producer Quincy Jones, who will participate, however, only if he is given the chance to hold a five-minute speech on diversity. We’ll see what will happen and especially those who will participate.
Meanwhile, here is a selection of actors, producers, directors, musicians and technicians of color that have won the Oscar.

Halle Barry even today remains the only black actress to receive the statuette in the category “Best Actress”.

Hattie McDaniel (Gone with the Wind)
Women outnumber men in the “non-actors”: 6 to 4. Hattie McDaniel became the first black to win an Oscar. Remember Mami Gone with the Wind (1939)? Unforgettable. They followed Whoopi Goldberg for Ghost in 1991, Jennifer Hudson for Dreamgirls in 2007, Mo’Nique for Precious in 2010, Octavia Spencer for The Help Lupita Nyong’o in 2012 and for 12 years a slave in 2014.

Fusion: the Yokohama restaurant in Milan is said to Foodoracle

The first chapter of Foodoracle, the new series of startups for home delivery of quality food Foodora, takes us in the kitchen of Rosy Chin. Among uramaki with black truffles and Parmesan eggplant with tuna and seaweed

Enter the Rosy Chin restaurant is a bit ‘like going to visit a friend in high school, those who revise from time to time and that riabbracci always willingly. Because even if you’ve never known, even if you’ve never sat at a table in his Yokohama (local gracious to a handful of steps from the Duomo of Milan) the time of the last formalities at most up to ordering water , and then give way to sincere smiles and valuable advice to juggle the proposals in its menu. A menu that Rosy, very Italian Chinese businesswoman third generation, processes and reprocesses along with her husband Paul, Sicilian-Apulian origins: so a lucky combination of love, creativity and different cultures born a kitchen which combines the exotic elegance East with the flavors and ingredients typical of our local tradition. Cindy Crawford, but as a retreat! His 50 years since super model

A phrase extrapolated from an interview triggers the alarm: “Cindy Crawford retires.” But it’s just a joke (already repeated and refuted)

Cindy Crawford retires from the set, from the covers and fashion? The voice and spreads the alarm. Which falls in less than 24 hours, thanks to the clarification of the same supermodel who laughs on Instagram: “Boys,” it is just a joke.

Crawford, during the promotion of his new book (Becoming), had given an interview to the magazine of United Airlines’ Hemispheres Rhapsody talking about the impending birthday, that of 50, as one of those events that could mean “to say goodbye to the days as a model. ” And down all talk of early retirement. The speech, in fact, still seemingly cryptic: “[…] Or maybe do not say goodbye. But go ahead. I had no idea that the book would be part of the trip. […] I am certain that you take my picture for another 10 years, maybe not as a model. Alright then. I did that, I worked with many amazing photographers … But I can not continue to reinvent myself, to put myself to the test.
No matter what he meant really say Cindy at that time because in the end … it was all a joke, as the same Crawford was quick to emphasize on social publishing his personal enlightenment.

“Every year, I tell my children that I retire. It’s a joke in the family. But then, every year, they are jumping out exciting opportunity for me. Although it is true that I can not wait to move my attention and focus on my things, family and friends – I am not making any final declaration (not all the headlines tell the whole story!). I loved being part of the fashion world in the last 30 years and if this time has taught me anything, it is: never say never. Thanks for the support, I am so excited for what 2016 will bring! “

Miley Cyrus, the new life begins with Woody Allen

The “bad girl of pop” could put his head in place (also because it is entrusted with the former) right with the director, in turn, struggling with his first time with a TV series (Amazon): Miley will be the new Allen’s muse?

About the project, ie a TV series for Amazon, Woody Allen has often shown “worried”.

Then, however, he must have made peace with the idea. So much so that the cast is inserting two stars recall – albeit very different. One is Elaine May, the other is Miley Cyrus.

Pop singer could perhaps take advantage of the set of Allen groped for a breakthrough: now that he is also engaged (with ex Liam Hemsworth), might want a new image.
After a couple years of follies and excesses, Miley could make the most, beside the master, his ironic relieving the sexual provocation.

Moreover, for her it is not the first test by actress was born as Hannah Montana and recently starred with Bill Murray in Murray A Very Christmas.
But it will be his first time with Woody Allen, with whom however the eighty-three Elaine May has already been dealing in Criminals with Scientists (2000).

You not yet know much more about this project, except the detail of the setting (the seventies).
A few months ago, in Cannes, Allen had slackened, telling their own difficulties to the idea of making a film into six parts and their own inexperience with the TV series.
Fortunately, the director had confirmed the commitment not to disappoint Amazon, which left him carte blanche in terms of creativity (and, apparently, a very attractive budget).
Who knows if, after ‘”was Scarlett Johansson,” a Woody Allen struggling with to his first TV series, Miley Cyrus will be the new muse?

An idea for a weekend of total relaxation? Masseria San Domenico, in Puglia

A Savelletri, in the heart of Apulia, is the place that most resembles the Macondo of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, an oasis of serenity in the midst of olive trees
“Many years later, facing the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice.” Thus begins the masterpiece One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. “Gabo” used to say that a good old age is an honest pact with solitude. But he did not need to bargain, the feelings of the people have wrapped like a cocoon of tenderness and gratitude to the end, or perhaps loneliness existed in the depths of his mind of man too deep to be fully understood. Loneliness was down, to cause physical discomfort silent, where supporting the ear could hear the throb of the soul.
Why think of Garcia Marquez here, in the heart of Puglia? Why think about the loneliness, the beneficial, healthy, one to which every human being auto-armed and equipped with desk-think at least once a day, when in agony in a traffic jam or quivers in an open space? I’ll explain.
Crossing the threshold of Masseria San Domenico, after the curiosity grows as a fair tide to full moon along the endless path in the olive groves leading to the reception, you feel in Macondo. Yes, in Macondo. A Macondo among trulli, with Aureliano Buendia that puts the “e” instead of “a”, with Negroamaro of Puglia that caresses the throat instead Agua ardiente, but still Macondo, a magical world, isolated in his Beauty, a kind of Avalon south where the round table sit limply knights who is granted every delight.
Macondo is an imaginary village where to lord it is a merciless sun, the sun saber shadows, makes clear, excessive, Manichean in their game of black and white. So at the Colonial. Stroll in this wonderful farm that resembles the South American ranches, slides along the walls and immaculate ado about sublime baroque details; steps facing immense sunny courtyards of paved and you think that somewhere will win a duelist with a Colt in hand and the notes of Ennio Morricone will vibrate in the air that smells of oleander flowers. But no, it is not a duelist, not Clint Eastwood with a cigar between his lips narrow slit, is one of the girls of thalassotherapy, which invites you to dive into the pool of sea water at 28 degrees, oxygenated every day, and thou follow docile docile, under a verriere superb. Your body no longer takes orders from your mind, rebels in anarchy soft and you glide into the warm water. It happens in Macondo Macondo south, first exit right.
The ancient heart of the farm is the beautiful watch tower of the Knights of Malta, dating back to the fifteenth century. It is the nucleus, the magic lantern of stone and lime under a parade of the centuries in this corner of the South that the story has come to light. At night the tower wears lanterns and candles that enhance friezes and loopholes, and the building becomes sentinel of the beautiful pool of brackish water, carved into natural rocks.
